We are blessed to live in a part of the world resplendent with a wide variety of flora and fauna. The woodland harbours an abundance of deer, badgers, jays, woodpeckers, magpies, smaller birds and other mammals. Of course mushrooms can be found in season but are edible only if you know what they are! Sanglier are present, though are rarely seen during the day. Several types of deer live in the woods and regularly pass very close to the house.
To promote insect life, especially bees (we have several varieties) we actively refrain from cutting the grass in the field and often sow wild flowers. Wild orchids are common among the grasses
